Protection Settings
The ByteHide Shield desktop configurator provides a comprehensive set of protection options to secure your .NET applications. This guide explains the available protection settings and how to configure them.
Protection Presets
The configurator offers four protection presets to simplify configuration:
| Preset | Description |
|---|---|
| Maximum | Maximum protection with optimal performance - applies the strongest security measures |
| Balance | Best balance between security and performance - recommended for most applications |
| Optimized | Balanced protection with optimal performance - prioritizes runtime efficiency |
| Custom | Customize all protection settings manually - for advanced users |
To select a preset:
- Expand the Protection Settings section
- Click on your desired preset option
- The configurator will automatically enable the appropriate protections based on your selection
Custom Protection Options
When you select the Custom preset, you can manually enable and configure each protection individually:
